It’s our privilege to share that The Story of Wealth is being supported by a $50,000 special project grant from Liberated Capital, a fund of Decolonizing Wealth Project.
These funds will allow us to complete production of the film, as well as get a jump-start on some of the more specialized areas of post-production. While the pandemic continues to keep production slow, these funds will certainly accelerate our timeline to finishing this film, with a target of 2-3 years for distribution.
In their letter of support, Decolonizing Wealth Project’s Principal, Edgar Villanueva wrote, “Our support of The Story of Wealth is a special project under Decolonizing Wealth Project’s Narrative Change area of work. This support is unrestricted; we trust you to use the resources as you see fit for the creation and dissemination of The Story of Wealth documentary/docuseries.”
We were really fortunate to sit down with Edgar back in 2018 to discuss his book, Decolonizing Wealth, while this film was still in its infancy. We’ve been so grateful for his time in front of the camera, and we’re so excited to be working with him behind it. As Edgar reminded us upon this new partnership and collaboration, “the best is yet to come.”
